On review of the current state of the capital state, I hereby state:
Population growing at a rapid rate, Opulent heritage with architecture ornate, Masses taking the corruption bait, Sacrifice reflected on the India gate, O the variety in the city is so innate. Optimism does not seem to abate. The city that tends to exhilarate, And also calms the crowds irate, The city with a distinctive trait, One that declares its own fate! Delhi’s a city with layers manifold, With the rich & poor, the young & old. It’s a city that exemplifies many contrasts, Looking to the future, without forgetting pasts. Scams and scandals seem galore, But with media vigilante at the door, And denizens creating a huge furore, It keeps checks and balances at the core. As one accepts the heat and cold, As one digests the stories untold, As one struggles with broken dreams, As one absorbs the city of extremes. The search continues for growth and stability, The initiatives to build harmony in diversity; The leveraging of heritage and culture, The aspiration and hope of a better future.
